Hawai’I People’s Fund Grants

Submission: September 1, 2014 and March 1, 2015

Hawai‘i People’s Fund is a publicly supported community foundation established in 1972 to provide grants to progressive grassroots social change organizations working in Hawai‘i. HPF Grantmaking reaches a broad range of issue areas. The manner in which a group works towards its goals is as important as the specific project it has chosen. Potential grantees are encouraged to carefully consider the funding guidelines and follow the application procedures. Proposals from community groups throughout Hawai‘i are considered twice a year. Full proposals must be received by March 1 and September 1. Faxed and emailed applications are NOT accepted. Emergency applications for may be submitted at any time and may be emailed, however we strongly suggest you follow up to ensure they are received.

You are encouraged to contact Hawai‘i People’s Fund for assistance ahead of time with questions regarding eligibility or filling out the application. Hawai‘i People’s Fund encourages projects that have developed a realistic plan for achieving change. We place a priority on projects that utilize organizing and education to promote social change and we invite projects that are startup in nature. We encourage groups to work together, share information, educate their target audiences and broaden the movement for progressive social change.  Contact is Darlene at HPFgrants@lava.net or call Honolulu office at (808) 593-9969
