The Hawai‘i Community Foundation is a public, statewide, charitable services and grantmaking organization supported by donor contributions for the benefit of Hawai‘i’s people. HCF operates as an umbrella agency for several hundred grant and scholarship foundations that fund projects in Hawaii. Island representatives of HCF have offices on Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and Hawaii Island for more personal contact and support. The Maui office is available to island residents of Lanai and Molokai. Sometimes the HCF representatives know of specific family foundations donors who are looking to support environmental projects in K-12 schools in particular. Go on the HCF website for a listing of Hawaii based foundations that support local projects and efforts in a variety of categories. It is important to register with HCF in order to access the grants and funds available through them and registration is a simple, online process.
